District Taco and local Ultra-Marathoner Mike Wardian Partner to Feed Hungry Children

District Taco is partnering with ultra-marathoner Mike Wardian to raise money for local public schools. Wardian is planning to run to and enjoy a taco at each of District Taco’s 12 locations across the DMV on Saturday, June 20, 2020 beginning at 7:00 am.

District Taco and Mike Wardian, a Guiness World Record-winning runner, have created a 60-mile running route beginning at the Riverdale Park location and finishing at the Arlington - Yorktown location. Wardian’s support crew will be driving alongside him, ensuring his safety and enjoying delicious tacos on the way.

“District Taco is so excited to partner with Mike,” says Osiris Hoil, District Taco CEO and Co-Founder. “He loves our food, and we love how well he represents the community! This guy is the real deal!”

Wardian is well known in the running world. He is the 6-time champion of the National Marathon, as well as the recent Quarantine Backyard Ultra, in which he ran 263 miles in 63 hours to outlast all competitors.

As with all things District Taco, we want our customers to have fun and get involved! Those who spot Wardian on his 60-mile run can snap a picture and use hashtag #whereswardian while posting to social media to earn credit for a free taco on the District Taco app.

District Taco is committed to serving the community, and ensuring local children are fed. Donations will be made on behalf of District Taco to local school districts, where burritos will be served to help feed students who rely on Free & Reduced Lunch programs.
